Tools for Innovation | Design and Application of Nursing Storage Device with Embedded System

embedded module

The configuration and management of nursing supplies affects not embedded moduleonly the cost efficiency of the nursing supply chain, but also the quality and safety of care. In this study, a modular embedded storage device was designed and fabricated to collect disposable supplies for common nursing operations, and after clinical application, it is reported as follows.

I. Design and fabrication of modular embedded nursing storage device

Data of the cabinet doors fixed on the wall in the treatment room and their internal space dimensions were collected, and the design was simulated and optimized using computer graphics software. According to different storage items, suitable size storage boxes are designed and suitable open wall cabinets are made according to the size of the storage boxes for embedding the storage boxes. The embedded storage device is made of acrylic board and 502 adhesive.

1. Box: The box structure is designed as embedded multi-module, and each part of the box carries out the operation corresponding to 1 caregiver.

2. Module in the box: According to the number of items required for each nursing operation, the module in the box is divided into the corresponding number of modules; the size of the module space in the box depends on the shape of the items and the "weekly safety consumption" (i.e., the maximum weekly consumption).

3. Import/export of supplies: The top of the storage box is uncovered and is used for import/export of supplies; the modules are directly below the exit of supplies, one item is taken out at a time and the exit specifications are adjusted according to its volume. The supplies in each compartment are under their own gravity to ensure sustainable mining.

4. Marking:The name of the nursing operation items, such as intravenous infusion, oxygenation, etc. , marked in the center of the front of the box; above the outlet of each module power supply, marking the name of the power supply.

5. Location: The box and internal management module can be used flexibly to move, and placed in the wall closet after replenishing supplies. Box location information can be developed according to the use of different items can be planned, the height of the box to the nurse to access the items more convenient.

Second, the module embedded nursing storage equipment management methods

1. Set "weekly safe dose": track the weekly dose of each nursing operation, the maximum weekly dose is "weekly safe dose".

2. Collect: Collect various supplies from the warehouse every Thursday.

3. Preparation: Every Friday, we replenish and resupply all kinds of supplies to the "weekly safe dose", remove their outer packaging and disassemble them to the smallest working unit, and put them into the storage box according to their recent expiration date; the remaining learning supplies enterprises keep the outer packaging of the products and put them into the temporary storage. Every Wednesday to check each module within the supplies can be used in this case, replenish the individual excess amount of supplies, monthly chassis storage 1 time.

4. Sterilization: every Friday before supply, wipe the surface of the box with disposable quaternary ammonium sterilization wipes, and sterilize with ultraviolet light 1h every night in the treatment room.

III. Advantages of modular embedded nursing storage device

1. Improve the cost efficiency of the nursing supply chain.

The design can obtain relevant nursing supplies to save time and effort, which can improve the efficiency of enterprise work and learning and save a lot of human resources costs; in line with the requirements of first-in-first-out and management by batch number, which can prevent supplies from expiring and reduce the cost of wastage.

2. Ensure nursing quality and safety

The design navigates nursing supplies and collects nursing supplies with clear channels and clear markings, which can avoid potential risks such as mixing, misplacement and omission, shorten nurses' non-direct nursing time, reduce the occurrence of nursing interruptions or disruptions, and quickly prepare nursing supplies, which can be carried out to save time.

3.Improve nurses' job satisfaction

The design has a certain degree of optimization of the nursing management work life environment, reduce the work of nurses to carry out the load, and get the recognition of nurses.

The design satisfies the nurses' demand for convenient and quick access to nursing products, improves the cost efficiency of the nursing supply chain, ensures the quality and safety of nursing care, improves the nursing staff's job satisfaction, and provides a convenient, efficient and safe material management system for nurses.
