Individual Visitor Visa (G Visa)

G Visa is not required to enter Hong Kong and Macau with a travel agency, you can enter and exit Hong Kong on your own with your own pass. It can be issued as a 3-month one-time endorsement, 3-month second-time endorsement, 1-year one-time endorsement, 1-year second-time endorsement, 1-year multiple-entry endorsement (individual pilot cities), and each stay in Hong Kong does not exceed 7 days;

For cities where individual tourist visas are not open, you can travel to Hong Kong and Macao through visas for visiting relatives, business visas, group tourist visas and stay visas.

Group Tourist Visa (L Visa)

Applicants applying for group travel to Hong Kong can be issued with a 3-month one-time endorsement, a 3-month second-time endorsement, a 1-year one-time endorsement, a 1-year second-time endorsement, and stay in Hong Kong for not more than 7 days each time; for those who fall under the special circumstances stipulated by relevant regulations of our National Immigration Bureau, a 3-month one-time endorsement may be issued, and each time they stay in Hong Kong for not more than 3 days.

Business Visa (S Visa)

Personnel of enterprises and organizations that have filed a record may be issued a 3-month one-time endorsement, a 3-month multiple-entry endorsement, or a 1-year multiple-entry endorsement, with each stay in Hong Kong or Macao not exceeding 7 days, according to the filing regulations.

Personnel of enterprises and institutions and individual businessmen who have not filed a record may be issued a 3-month single-entry endorsement to stay in Hong Kong or Macao for not more than 7 days each time.

Persons who drive specialized means of transport between Guangdong Province and Hong Kong or Macao may be issued a 3-month multiple-entry endorsement or a 1-year multiple-entry endorsement, with each stay in Hong Kong or Macao not exceeding 7 days.

Visiting Family Visa (T Visa)

Those who visit their siblings, (external) grandparents or (external) grandchildren can be issued a 3-month one-time endorsement with a stay of no more than 14 days in Hong Kong or Macau.

Visiting spouses, parents working or parents without spouses, children's education or a child's spouse, can be issued for 3 months for multiple endorsements, in Hong Kong issues or through Macao to stay no more than 90 days from the date of the first system entry, if the applicant is a researcher of 60 years of age (including) or older, can be directly issued 1 year multiple endorsements, each time in the Hong Kong community or Macao to stay no more than 90 days;

Spouses applying for visiting relatives in Hong Kong and Macao, and spouses with minor children in Hong Kong and Macao, can be issued one-year multiple-entry endorsement, each stay in Hong Kong and Macao does not exceed 90 days.

If the family has special difficulties, with the approval of the Exit-Entry Administration Department of the public security organs at the provincial level, a one-year multiple-entry endorsement may be issued, with each stay in Hong Kong or Macao not exceeding 90 days.

Accompanying applicants may be issued visit endorsement with the same validity period and more valid number of times as the main applicant.

Others (Q-visa)

A 3-month primary endorsement and a 3-month secondary endorsement can be issued according to the reasons; if there are special circumstances that require multiple visits to Hong Kong or Macao, a 3-month multiple-entry endorsement can be issued; each stay in Hong Kong or Macao shall not exceed 14 days.

Staying Visa (D Visa)

Issued by the state government authorities to persons who have been authorized by the relevant administrative authorities of Hong Kong or Macao to study, work, reside or train in Hong Kong or Macao, and their family members. The stay visa is a multiple-entry visa, and the validity period of departure is issued according to the period of approval by the relevant education authorities of Hong Kong or Macao of China.

Hong Kong work visas and student visas are uniformly categorized as D stay. The first batch of work visas are valid for two years, while the validity period of student visas depends on the academic program applied for by the applicant, and postgraduate students are generally valid for 12 months, and spouses and unmarried children under the age of 18 can accompany the main applicant.

Among the above visa types, tourist visa and stay D visa are the most commonly used. If you want to visit Hong Kong, you have to apply for a tourist visa (G visa or L visa). If you want to go to Hong Kong to work, study, or even bring your family to immigrate, you need to apply for a stay visa (D visa).
